WTAPS x Vans…once again

Is anyone else not excited AT ALL about this collection?
Although I think it’s cool that for the collaboration this time around, they are releasing three brand new models, I am not pleased with any of them. Especially considering the first collaboration between WTAPS and Vans is still one of my favorite series of Vans. The three new models are the Rudeez, the Greaserz, and the Bash. It looks like each model will come in three different colorways and they will begin to release in June and a new model will come out each month until August.

Nom de Guerre x Oliver Peoples

It seems like nowadays everyone is about collaborating with one another and every so often something good comes out of it. Here’s an example of something good in my opinion. Nom de Guerre and Oliver Peoples got together to produce a set of frames, the NDG-1, in four different variations of color. I wish I wore glasses, and could afford some frames like these (because we can only imagine the cost). Very simple, which is something I always like. Should be available around June/July.

Cause moccasin boot-01

These would be great for the summer. New moccasin boot from Cause. Tumbled leather, embossed tag, and white sole make for some really nice details. But of course, these are from Japan and are no where to be found in the U.S. If you can read and order in Japanese, good luck..

Levi’s Nevada.

A new “reworked” 1880 something model from Levi Strauss & Co. to commemorate 150 years of denim excellence. The pair has one back pocket, smaller side pocket on the leg, cinching strap, and suspender buttons. They also come with the tan suspenders that are pictured. Available online only at Levi’s JP online store. I wish I could read Japanese.

Collaborations have gotten out of hand..

Maharishi x Dr. Romanelli x Lupe Fiasco Jar Tour Jacket
 I’m sorry, but this is ridiculous.
In my opinion, this is one poorly designed jacket. Plus, it doesn’t impress me much when all that is done is taking several different logos of companies, that don’t even go together, and placing them on an item and calling it a collaboration.
I guess the jacket itself, minus the logos could be decent, but it gets a thumbs down from me. 
Much disappointment from Maharishi, as they were known to me as having good taste.
